The Streetsboro Rockets flew into Monday night’s game with a chip on their shoulder. Previously blowing by the Comets, the Rockets had a ball with the top-ranked Field Falcons.

Streetsboro pitcher Jake Szczecinski started hot in the first, leading off with 2 Ks and a ground out. However, it was Streetsboro’s offensive onslaught that truly sold this game.

Heading into the second, Streetsboro kept their same momentum, putting up 4 runs, just pure domination from the Rockets.

Going into the third, it was 7-0. Streetsboro was playing perfect ball, with no errors and a full gas tank. Streetsboro decided to step on the throttle. After putting in 2 runs, bases were loaded. Senior Jayden Coffie got walked for an RBI, setting the Streetsboro record for RBIs.

It was now Jake Szcecinski’s turn at bat. Bases were loaded. Szcecinski hit a bomb to center field, after an error from the center fielder. All previous runners had scored, with Szcecinski advancing to second for a double.

This left the Falcons dazed, while they had a presence of their former selves in the fourth. It was still a shutout win for the Rockets.

Streetsboro takes on the Falcons again on May 5th. Can they complete the sweep?
